According to the report, the students’ attendance dropped sharply as they moved to upper classes.
At the primary level, the attendance was found to be 99.1% which fell to 88.3% at secondary level, further to 59.2% at the higher secondary level. In colleges and professional courses, the percentage of students bunking their classes was 87.4%. Data revealed that only 28% of the students from rural and 58% from urban areas could complete their secondary and higher secondary studies. Students in the age group of three to 35 years were considered in preparing the report.
