Mysuru: Almost all advanced nations across the world are giving thrust to higher education, scientific based research activities as science is the base for all progress in society, said Indian Institute of Science professor Ashok Mitra here on Monday. Speaking on ‘Beyond research, creativity and innovations’ at National Science Day celebrations at Crawford Hall, University of Mysore, he said technologically advanced countries like United States of America, United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Germany and Japan are investing more on these two key sectors for promotion of both higher education and research activities understanding its significance in the empowerment of mankind.
