A new scheme on ‘Education for All’ – erstwhile termed as ‘Adult Education’ launched for the FYs 2022-2027 with an estimated budget of Rs. 1,037.90 crores. Of this total outlay of the budget sanctioned for 5 years to this program, the Central Share accounts to Rs. 700 Cr, while, the State Share accounts for Rs 337.90 Cr. The aim of the program is educating the non-literates who are 15 years old or above. According to the government, this program under the national scheme aims to impart foundational literacy and numeracy skills among the citizens of the 21st century. Not only this, but the aim is also to impart skills through quality and inclusive education with voluntary participation of people.
